Filevine logo Filevine in brief

Filevine was founded in 2014 in Salt Lake City by Ryan Anderson, its CEO, and grew from a personal injury case management tool into a broad legal platform. It says nearly 6,000 customers and 100,000 legal professionals use it, from boutique firms to government agencies and Fortune 500 companies, and that users upload more than 20 million pages of documents a day. In September 2025 Filevine announced $400 million in equity funding over two rounds led by Insight Partners, Accel and Halo Fund, which Law.com reported put its valuation at about $3 billion. Its core customers remain plaintiff litigation firms, though it also sells contract management and products for in-house and public sector teams.

Filevine's case management centralizes everything about a matter: contacts, documents, emails, text messages, phone logs, deadlines, calendars, tasks, notes, intake forms and audit logs. Firms configure custom project templates, fields and workflows for each practice area, and automations move cases between phases. Other modules cover lead intake, document assembly, e-signature, timekeeping and billing, client texting, reporting dashboards and contract lifecycle management. Implementation is handled by Filevine and certified partners. The platform runs on AWS and offers APIs and integrations with Microsoft 365, Google, accounting tools and others. Its depth of configuration suits firms with established processes but means setup takes real work.

Filevine's strengths are deep, configurable case management, AI that works with the full context of each matter, strong deposition tools, medical chronologies for injury firms and heavy investment in product. Its weaknesses are opaque pricing, AI billed separately by project, a configuration-heavy setup and a feature set that can be more than small firms need. Litify offers a similar Salesforce-based platform with native AI agents. Clio is simpler and better known among small firms. EvenUp and Supio focus on AI for personal injury demands and case analysis. CaseMark sells AI deposition summaries per file. Choose Filevine if you want case management and legal AI in one system.

Litify logo Litify in brief

Litify was founded in 2016 by John Morgan, of the personal injury firm Morgan & Morgan, and Reuven Moskowitz, and Morgan & Morgan became one of its largest customers after migrating millions of client and case files. Bessemer Venture Partners took a majority stake in 2023. Litify says it serves more than 45,000 legal professionals, including Salesforce itself, plaintiff and defense firms, in-house legal teams, government agencies and nonprofits. Because it runs on Salesforce, firms get Salesforce's security, mobile apps, reporting and integrations, and can extend Litify with other Salesforce apps. In March 2026 Litify rebranded its product as an AI-native Platform of Action.

Litify covers the full case lifecycle. Intake tools capture leads, qualify them and send retainers for e-signature. Matter management tracks parties, deadlines, tasks, notes, emails and files, with configurable workflows for each practice area. Document management and generation, timekeeping, billing and eBilling, and real-time reports and dashboards are included, all configured in a no-code environment. For corporate legal departments, Litify offers enterprise legal management with matter intake, outside counsel spend control and eBilling. Litify says its platform runs on Salesforce and AWS, with Anthropic as its closed AI model provider. Implementation is a project, often with partners, rather than a self-serve signup.

Litify's strengths are its Salesforce foundation, end-to-end coverage from intake to billing, a growing library of native AI agents, strong personal injury features and support for corporate legal departments. Its weaknesses are a high starting price, implementation effort, dependence on Salesforce skills for deep customization and limited public pricing. Filevine offers similar configurable case management with LOIS AI and deposition tools. Clio suits smaller firms wanting simpler setup. EvenUp and Supio focus on AI for injury demands and case analysis. Eve targets plaintiff firms with AI-native workflows. Choose Litify if your firm wants a Salesforce-based platform with AI agents across every case.
