Blooket Review, Pricing & Alternatives (2026)

Classroom review games with collectible Blooks, homework mode and Khanmigo AI sets

Last updated: October 26, 2026

What is Blooket?

Blooket is a game-based learning platform where teachers host question sets as live games or homework, and students answer questions to win points, collect characters called Blooks and compete across many game modes. Question sets can be written, imported from Quizlet or generated with Khan Academy's free Khanmigo. Starter is free for 60 players; Plus costs $4.99 a month billed yearly.

Blooket launched in 2018 and became one of the most popular review game tools in K-12 classrooms, used by teachers, tutors and students who host games for friends. It works like a quiz app wrapped in arcade-style games: students answer questions on their own devices, then use the points they earn in a mini game, such as defending a tower, running a factory or stealing gold from classmates. Students collect cartoon characters called Blooks by opening packs with in-game tokens, which keeps them coming back. Students join with a game ID in a browser, and teachers can host live games or assign the same sets as self-paced homework.

Teachers build question sets with multiple choice and typing questions, images and time limits, or search a large library of public sets made by other teachers. Sets can be imported from Quizlet or a spreadsheet. Game modes include Gold Quest, Tower Defense, Cafe, Factory, Crypto Hack, Fishing Frenzy, Racing and seasonal modes, with some reserved for paid plans. Live games show a leaderboard on the teacher's screen, and homework mode lets students play on their own until a deadline. Reports show each student's accuracy by question, which helps teachers spot topics the class missed, and Plus adds more detailed reports.

Blooket's AI question generation comes through a partnership with Khan Academy, announced in January 2025. In Khanmigo, Khan Academy's AI teaching assistant, which is free for teachers, the Blooket Generator takes a grade level and topic, plus optional standards, notes and instructions, and produces multiple choice question cards. Teachers edit or discard each card, add the ones they want, then export the set to Blooket and save it. Teachers can also open Khanmigo from Blooket's question set creator. Blooket's help center notes that you cannot add generated questions to an existing set directly, but Plus subscribers can merge sets, and Khanmigo itself warns that it makes mistakes.

Blooket Starter is free and allows games of up to 60 players, unlimited question sets and most core modes. Blooket Plus costs $4.99 a month charged yearly, or $59.88, and adds exclusive game modes, games of up to 300 players, enhanced reports, a question bank, audio, folders, copying and duplicating sets, merging sets, homework deadlines of up to 365 days instead of 14, and bonus tokens for Blooks. Plus Flex offers the same features for $9.99 billed monthly. Group plans for schools and districts let administrators buy Plus for many teachers and accept purchase orders. Student accounts and Blook collecting are free.

Blooket's strengths are highly engaging game modes, collectible Blooks, an easy free tier with room for 60 players, a low-cost Plus plan, Quizlet import and free AI question sets through Khanmigo. Its weaknesses are game mechanics that can reward luck over knowledge, a reliance on an outside tool for AI generation and distraction concerns for some classes. Gimkit adds deeper strategy and its own AI generator. Kahoot is the classic live quiz show format. Quizlet focuses on flashcards. Wayground, formerly Quizizz, offers AI lesson tools. Choose Blooket if you want fun, flexible review games that students ask to play.

Can Blooket make questions with AI?

Yes, through Khan Academy's Khanmigo. In the free Khanmigo teacher account, the Blooket Generator creates multiple choice questions from a grade level and topic. You edit the questions, export them to Blooket and save the set. You can also launch Khanmigo from Blooket's question set creator.

What does Blooket Plus include?

Blooket Plus adds exclusive game modes, games of up to 300 players, enhanced reports, a question bank, audio questions, folders, copying and duplicating sets, merging sets and homework deadlines of up to 365 days instead of 14. Subscribers also receive bonus tokens for collecting Blooks.

Can I import Quizlet sets into Blooket?

Yes. Blooket's question set creator can import sets from Quizlet as well as spreadsheets, turning terms and definitions into multiple choice questions. After import you can edit the questions, add images and set time limits like any other Blooket set, then host it live or assign it as homework.

Blooket or Kahoot, which is better?

Kahoot runs a quiz show format where everyone answers the same question on a shared screen, which suits whole-class moments. Blooket lets students answer at their own pace inside varied mini games with collectible Blooks, which suits longer review sessions and homework. Blooket's paid plan also costs less than most Kahoot teacher plans.
