Tactiq Review, Pricing & Alternatives (2026)
Bot-free meeting transcripts and AI summaries for Google Meet, Zoom and Teams
Last updated: October 26, 2026
What is Tactiq?
Tactiq is a Chrome and Edge extension that transcribes Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams calls in real time without a bot joining the meeting. It generates AI summaries, action items and answers, runs AI workflows that push notes to other tools, and connects to Claude and ChatGPT. The free plan covers 10 transcripts a month; Pro starts at $8 a month.
Tactiq is an Australian company that built its meeting assistant as a browser extension rather than a recording bot. When a Google Meet, Zoom or Microsoft Teams call starts in the browser, Tactiq captures the live captions and speech as text, with speaker names, without adding a visible participant to the call. Tactiq says it does not store audio, only text transcripts, which appeals to teams uncomfortable with bots recording meetings. It says it is used by more than 10,000 companies and over 1 million people. The extension works in Chrome and Edge, and Google Companion Mode support lets users transcribe from a second device in the room.
During a call, the Tactiq side panel shows the live transcript, and users can highlight key lines, add notes, take screenshots and ask questions about the meeting so far. After the call, the full transcript is saved to the Tactiq dashboard with search, tags, folders and sharing, and can be exported to Google Docs, Notion, Confluence or other tools. Tactiq supports more than 60 languages. Users can also upload recordings or transcripts from other sources. Team and higher plans auto-share transcripts with colleagues, and a Daily Digest summarizes recent meetings. Admins can pause automatic transcription or turn off the in-meeting notification on paid plans.
AI features run on the transcript. One click produces a summary, action items with owners, decisions or key insights, and users can ask custom questions or draft follow-up emails. AI Meeting Kits provide prompt templates for sales calls, interviews, standups and other formats. AI Workflows chain prompts and actions, for example summarizing a sales call and sending notes to a CRM or Slack channel automatically. Tactiq connects to Claude and ChatGPT so those assistants can query meeting history, and a Tactiq MCP server is in beta on the Business plan. One AI credit covers all AI actions on a single meeting.
The Free plan includes 10 transcripts and 5 AI credits a month; meetings under five minutes do not use a transcript credit. Pro costs $8 per user a month billed annually, or $12 monthly, with unlimited transcripts and 10 AI credits. Team costs $16.67 per user a month billed annually, or $20 monthly, for up to 20 users with unlimited AI credits, priority support and auto-sharing. Business costs about $29 per user a month annually, or $40 monthly, for 20 to 200 users and adds SAML SSO, data retention controls and MCP access. Enterprise for 200+ users is custom. When AI credits run out, transcription continues.
Tactiq's main advantages are bot-free capture and a low entry price. Its limits are that it works only for browser-based meetings, offers no audio or video recording to replay, and relies on meeting captions, so accuracy can trail tools that process audio directly. Otter and Fireflies join calls as bots and record audio and video with deeper search and analytics. Fathom offers a generous free recorder for Zoom, Meet and Teams, tl;dv records and clips video, and Granola transcribes from the device without a bot. Choose Tactiq if you want transcripts and AI notes from browser meetings without a bot announcing itself.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Tactiq free?
Yes. Tactiq's Free plan includes 10 meeting transcripts and 5 AI credits a month for one user, with AI summaries, sharing and export. Meetings shorter than five minutes do not use a transcript credit. Pro costs $8 a month billed annually for unlimited transcripts, and Team adds unlimited AI credits.
Does Tactiq join my meeting as a bot?
No. Tactiq runs as a Chrome or Edge extension and captures the transcript in your browser, so no extra participant joins the call. Other attendees may see a notification message depending on your settings, which paid plans can disable. Tactiq says it does not store meeting audio, only text.
How do Tactiq AI credits work?
One AI credit covers every AI action on a single meeting, including summaries, action items, custom questions, workflows and queries from connected assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT. Free includes 5 credits a month, Pro 10, and Team and above unlimited. Credits reset monthly and do not roll over.
Which meeting platforms does Tactiq support?
Tactiq supports Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams when they run in the Chrome or Edge browser, plus Google Companion Mode. You can also upload recordings or transcripts from other sources. It does not capture meetings held in the Zoom or Teams desktop apps unless they are opened in the browser.
Tactiq or Otter, which is better?
Otter joins meetings as a bot, records audio and video, and offers playback, live notes and more detailed search, with apps for desktop and mobile. Tactiq avoids bots and stores only text, which suits privacy-minded teams and browser-based Google Meet users. Teams that want recordings usually prefer Otter or Fireflies.
